Covid-19 FAQ

Covid-19 Information

What are the signs of COVID-19?

COVID-19 symptoms can appear anywhere from 2 to 14 days after exposure.

They may include:
Fever
Cough
Shortness of breath
GI symptoms or upset stomach
Loss of smell/taste

Can I Be Tested at In & Out Urgent Care for COVID-19?

COVID-19 lab testing is being offered at all centers, as supplies are available, to those who meet the CDC-based screening criteria. Please see our COVID Testing Criteria for more details.

How long will it take to get COVID-19 test results?

Our Rapid Antigen Test takes about 15-30 minutes from collection to results. The PCR molecular test is sent to an outside lab. Timing may vary depending on the volume of tests being performed by our commercial lab partners, but it typically takes two to four days for patients to get results. A member of our team will call you once we receive the results.

Do I need a doctor’s referral to be tested for COVID-19 at an In & Out Urgent Care clinic?

COVID-19 testing is only available at In & Out Urgent Care locations for patients who are seen and evaluated at our clinics. Testing is only offered as testing supplies remain available to us and only to those who meet CDC screening criteria. We do not currently accept referrals or prescriptions for testing from outside health care providers.

Why can’t you tell me the total cost of a COVID-19 test?

In & Out Urgent Care only bills patients for the evaluation and treatment they receive from our medical providers during their visit. Our cash fee for this service is required to be posted and is $175. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide any information about how our commercial lab partners, LabCorp or CliniCore, will bill patients for COVID-19 testing, nor are we able to provide information about how specific insurance carriers will process claims related to COVID-19 testing and treatment. Many health insurance companies across the country have stated that they will cover the full cost of any testing for COVID-19. However, if you have questions or concerns about your specific insurance plan, it is a good idea to check with your insurance company to learn if it covers the test. In & Out accepts most major insurance plans. If you don’t have insurance or have an insurance that is out of network we will explain to you the most current information we have about COVID testing and how it may apply to In and Out Urgent Care centers.

Should I still visit In & Out for cold or flu treatment?

Symptoms like cough and fever are common this time of year and are most often a result of a cold or the flu. While symptoms of the common cold typically start slowly and increase in severity over a period of days, flu-like symptoms tend to come on quickly. If you do start to experience cold or flu symptoms, it’s important to visit a health care professional as soon as possible to reduce risk of complications, like pneumonia, bronchitis, or sinus or ear infections. If you are exhibiting a cough or fever, please call your local In & Out Urgent Care center and our team members will advise on next steps.
